Global Basemap – A Worldwide Imagery Solution – Focus on North America

Do you have the need for regularly updated images of locations around the world?

Perhaps you need imagery to integrate with an OEM solution you are developing?

Or maybe your organization uses large amounts of high-resolution imagery each year, and you are seeking a low-cost option for this data?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, then the solution you are looking for is DigitalGlobe’s Global Basemap (GBM).

With Global Basemap, you have access to millions of square kilometers of imagery with low cloud-cover and off-nadir angles. This data is accessible in streaming web-mapping services as well as through an online viewer. And perhaps the most important feature of GBM is the regular updates you can receive as out-dated imagery is often of little or no use to our valued clients.

October 2014 Global Basemap Product Update

In the last few months, we’ve talked about updates to the Refresh USA GBM product. But as DigitalGlobe Basemap has a global scope, this month we highlight some of the updates being done in the rest of the world to keep its content the freshest and most valued source of truth about our changing planet.

Over the past few weeks and months, DigitalGlobe added beautiful, color balanced mosaics of over 50 metro areas to GBM. The focus this time was on Europe and Northern Africa, including cities such as: Benghazi, Libya; Copenhagen, Denmark; Kiev, Ukraine; Marrakesh, Morocco; Minsk, Belarus; Paris, France; Prague, Czech Republic; and Zaragoza, Spain.

In addition to these beautiful metros, DigitalGlobe added timely imagery over every continent on Earth, increasing the overall currency of the GBM database.
