Free For All – Easy Thumbnails

This month, we feature a handy tool that, well, might be handy for our non-GIS readers as well! This great freeware application built by Fookes Software, Easy Thumbnails, is the easiest application I have found to create low resolution (or down-sampled) versions of image files. With Easy Thumbnails, you can create thumbnails images for one image file or for a folder of image files. You have the ability to change the thumbnail size as well as adjust the contrast, brightness, etc. of the thumbnails as they are created. One item to keep in mind is that Easy Thumbnails does not create georeferenced previews, they are simply JPEG image files.

Until my next edition of the Free For All, happy hunting for free geospatial goodies!
