Key August 2021 Improvement(s)

The one thing we can tell you about maintaining a large system like Image Hunter is that updates, previews and so much more can break daily so you have to constantly be on the lookout for issues. This month we found coverage issues with Airbus and Maxar stereo, and we are working hard to solve the backend bugs. For now, we fixed a slew of broken updates. And the change that our readers might be happiest about, is adding in 8-band PlanetScope data! It can be found in the Data Selector under the Planet tab listed as an 8-band scene or PS8.

Here is a summary of the changes/improvements we made to Image Hunter during the past month:

• Added back in tons and tons of missing Airbus SPOT 6/7 and Pleiades 1 stereo data.
• Improved handling of Airbus stereo and tri-stereo products.
• Fixed a bug with previews for Maxar stereo.
• Removed Jilin-1 nighttime data from the default search as the vendor archive has too many duplicates to display properly.
• Deimos-2 stereo previews broke – we worked with the vendor to fix them.
• Changed out an API key to restore Airbus data and preview updates.
• Fixed the shapefile ingest process for Hexagon coverage.
• Doubled the speed of our AWS database server.
• Removed a slew of duplicate Airbus stereo IDs.
