Free For All – Hello Ruby!

Hello Ruby is a whimsical way for kids to learn about computers, coding and technology. The book began as a Kickstarter project in 2014 and has since been published in over 22 languages!

In the book series, Ruby and her friends, Penguin and Snow Leopard, work together to solve all sorts of problems. Featuring a strong, smart female main character, the books aim to promote STE(A)M education while making the content more accessible and diverse.

Although the book Hello Ruby: Adventures in Coding isn’t free, the book also has a website with tons of (mostly screen-free!) activities to help kids learn about computers, programming and coding. Both the book series and the websites are designed for kids ages 4 to 10. The website also offers free resources for teachers who are looking to learn more about integrating computer science into their classrooms.
