If you are intrigued by aircraft, you’ll love the image we’re sharing with you this month. It’s of the 2023 Abbotsford Airshow, which started in 1962 as a partnership between the Abbotsford Flying Club and the Abbotsford Rotary Club to promote aviation at the Abbotsford Airport. Since then, the event has grown to become one of Fraser Valley’s largest and most exciting annual events.
For this month’s Your Imagery Work Break, we feature a high off-nadir (meaning it was taken from a side-view) 75-centimeter WorldView-2 image from August 13, 2023 when the 2023 Abbotsford Airshow was in peak attendance. Collected around 11:48 a.m. local time, this WorldView-2 image is looking at the airfield in the shape of a triangle surrounded by buildings on two sides.
The 2024 Abbotsford Airshow will be held August 9th to the 11th. Events will include shows by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the USAF F-22 Raptor Demo Team, the RCAF CF-18 Hornets, LED drones and more.
