We love maps.
We love imagery.
We love work breaks.
We hope you like them as well!
The winter season is looming and for many U.S. states, that includes bitter cold temperatures, icy roads, snow-covered yards, brutal and blustery winds, and closed golf courses. Avid golfers pass by their golf club bags, forlorn and wishing they were back on the greens.
Until spring comes around and warmer weather arrives, you’ll love the image we’re sharing with you this month. For December’s Imagery Work Break, we have a 50-centimeter GeoEye-1 image from February 12, 2022, taken at 11:22 AM local time. Captured from above, it’s the TPC Scottsdale, which boasts two championship courses for players to enjoy – the world-famous Stadium Course and the Champions Course. The 2022 Waste Management (WM) Phoenix Open was held from February 10 to 13, 2022 on the Stadium Course. Scottie Scheffler won the WM Phoenix Open at 16 under par and netted $1.4 million. The WM Phoenix Open hosts the PGA Tour stop with the largest crowds of any golf event in the world.
TPC Scottsdale was the sixth club in the TPC Network, born from the dream of then PGA Tour Commissioner Deane Beman. His vision was to create a network of clubs that would embody the Tour’s quality standards. TPC Scottsdale and the Stadium Course began construction in January 1986. The design team of renowned architects Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish were directed by Commissioner Beman to create a similar Stadium design like that at TPC Sawgrass – allowing all spectators a perfect view of the tournament. The course, which was renovated in 2014, is most famous for its par-3, 16th hole that transforms into “The Coliseum” during tournaments, and provides fans with one of the most exciting settings in professional sports.
Have a great rest of your workday! 😊
