Your Imagery Work Break – 2021 Kumbh Mela

We love maps.

We love imagery.

We love work breaks.

We hope you like them as well!

Before we know, it will be full on summer here in the Northern Hemisphere! But until that time, there are many amazing spring days to enjoy so head out on a quick work break to celebrate the nice weather today. Right before you head out, take a few seconds to gander this 50-centimeter (cm) black and white only WorldView-1 image of Haridwar, India collected on April 10, 2022. And while this is a rather uneventful image, in normal times these river banks would be crowded with devoted Hindus making a religious pilgrimage known as Kumbh Mela. You can see these gigantic crowds in our 2019 image of the same festival, however the 2021 festival was impacted by COVID and eventually canceled after the death of a religious icon.

Have a great rest of your workday! ☺
