Your Imagery Work Break – 2018 World Cup

We love maps.

We love imagery.

We love work breaks.

We hope you like them as well!

Winter is in full effect here in the Northern Hemisphere so if you are headed out for a quick work break, bring a ski cap with you! But right before you head outside, take a second to check out this 62-centimeter GeoEye-1 image collected over Kazan Arena in Kazan, Russia on June 16, 2018 at 07:33:31 UTC. And you might be wondering, what makes that day special here; well, it was the site of a 2018 World Cup game between France and Australia with a 10:00 UTC start time! The match was won 2 to 1 by France, who was also the eventual winner of the 2018 World Cup. Tents, trucks and people can be seen all around Kazan Arena in this imagery, likely a combination of fans and media who were preparing for the upcoming match.

Have a great rest of your workday!
