Proving the constellation’s ability to collect imagery nearly anywhere on the planet in short time frames, the Pléiades 1 twins deliver once again with cloud-free imagery collected over the TPC Sawgrass golf course just three weeks before the start of the US PGA 2013 tour event there, The Players Championship. Held from May 9th to the 12th, the Players Championship is sometimes thought of as the fifth major as it features the largest purse on the PGA tour at $9.5 million. The tournament is played on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The course plays as a par 72 with 7,215 yards between the 18 holes. The most ionic hole is the 17th, sometimes called the Island Green, which is 137 yard chip to a small green surrounded by water on all sides. This is the 40th edition of the Players Championship (originally called the Tournament Players Championship) which has only been won more than once by 5 golfers in its history. The field usually includes most of the world’s top 50 golfers so it is sure to be a competitive event each year.

We hope you enjoy the stunning Pléiades 1A image of the TPC Sawgrass in this article.
