Free For All – Revo Uninstaller Pro

Okay, so I know we have all had the experience of installing a freeware program and along with it seven smaller programs are added to your computer. And then what if one of those smaller add-on programs is causing issues on your computer and no matter what, you cannot uninstall it?!

Well, I ran into this situation recently when I tried to update a program and along with it came the annoying browser toolbar, AVG SafeGuard. No matter what I tried, AVG was one persistent program! I tried the normal uninstall application included with Windows 7 – and no luck. Then I tried a number of online solutions that involved manually deleting files from the C: drive as well as my registry – and again, nothing! Finally, I broke down and tried a few programs that promised they could uninstall AVG, but again no success, ugh.

I was about to give up and just deal with toolbar, when I ran across Revo Uninstaller Pro. Revo offers a free 30-day trial period and then costs about $40 to continue using it. So I installed the 30-day trial and boom, within minutes AVG Toolbar was gone and my computer was running smoothly again.

A huge thanks goes out to the developers of Revo Uninstaller – hopefully this short piece gives you some well deserved attention!

Until my next edition of the Free For All, happy hunting for free geospatial goodies!
