An Update on the Recently Launched SPOT 6 Satellite

We are excited to hear from Astrium GeoInformation Services that the recently launched, medium resolution satellite, SPOT 6, is performing well in all of its tests. We expect pricing as well as product samples in December. SPOT 6 is by far the most advanced medium resolution satellite in the industry offering:

  • 1.5-meter natural color products with a true blue band
  • 4-band (blue, green, red and near-infrared) 6-meter multispectral images
  • A 60-kilometer (km) wide footprint
  • The ability to image up to 3 million sq km per day

In our coming editions of The Geospatial Times, we will provide updates on SPOT 6 pricing, product availability and more. Let us know if you have any specific questions about SPOT6 by email at sales@apollomapping.com.
