Free For All – Gapminder

This month we take a fun look at statistics! Don’t worry, you don’t have to do any of your own statistics. Hans Rosling is one of three founders of Gapminder.org, a non-profit website that endeavors to view the world through facts instead of gossip and ignorance. In his hour-long documentary, Rosling presents the facts about population growth based on statistical evidence. It’s a very interesting and entertaining video that is certainly worth an hour of your time.

Gapminder.org also provides interactive maps and charts on numerous topics, including CO2 emissions, mortality by natural disasters, HIV and poverty to name a few. It’s very enlightening and challenges many stereotypes we have come to accept as truths. So take the time to learn the facts of life!
